Description

This Red Sangria Recipe is perfect for fall, with fruity flavors and a sparkling finish! Red wine is mixed with orange juice and seasonal fruits for a refreshing drink perfect for celebrations or nights at home. It’s a super-simple traditional recipe that everyone will love!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 cups sliced fruit, such as pears, apples, and orange slices
  • 1 bottle full bodied red wine, like a blend or a Rioja, see notes for nonalcoholic version
  • 3 TBS pomegranate arils
  • 1/41/2 cup sugar, organic cane if possible
  • 1 TBS apple cider vinegar
  • Cognac or brandy, optional
  • Pinch of salt
  • Sparkling water, for serving

Instructions

  1. Wash and slice all fruit. Set aside. Pour wine into a large pitcher and add fruit. Stir with a long-handled spoon. Add sugar and vinegar and stir again. Add cognac/brandy if using, and pinch of salt.
  2. Let sangria sit in the fridge for at least an hour to help flavor meld. Serve topped with sparkling water. Sangria will for up to three days, covered in the fridge.

Notes

For a nonalcoholic version, sub wine with 8 cups apple cider.
