I hate the phrase “last-minute gifts” since it comes with so much implied pressure (and companies begin using it in marketing language by December 1st). By when are we supposed to have all holiday gifts purchased by – is there a deadline?!
However. One could say today’s post consists of a myriad of last-minute gift ideas that are in one of my favorite categories – consumables. Consumable items are clutter-free and very rarely go to waste. Especially when we lean into nonperishable items (or very long shelf life items, a few of which are featured below).
If you really love minimalist gifting, feel free to head over to Instagram to check out my complete round up of clutter-free gift ideas.
For good measure, I’ve also included an assortment of holiday cookie recipes, just for further holiday inspiration. If the idea of a cookie box seems daunting (I feel like it kind of is?), then maybe try making a batch of these just to have on hand – I promise the recipe are all very straightforward (and crowd-pleasing). And who would say no to a nice plate of holiday cookies?
Gifts in a Jar
Tip: When searching for a jar to put a gift in, start with your own pantry. I often like to wash out emptied jars from the grocery store – it’s an eco-friendly way to avoid needing to buy a set of Mason jars.
Holiday Cookies Recipes for a Box
Like I said above, you can choose to add these to a box assortment or, for an easier path, just pick one to bring with you this holiday!
Simple Candy Recipes (No Thermometer)
These are not “true” candies, but I find they evoke similar feelings of nostalgia and are just fun to make and receive.
