Ingredients
1 16ozbag of fresh or frozen cranberries
Juice and zest of one orange
¼cupmaple syruphoney, or white sugar
Pinchof salt
1cupapplesauceoptional
Instructions
Add all cranberries to a small saucepan with 1 cup of water. Turn heat to medium-high and bring to a strong simmer. The berries will start making "popping" noises. At this point, turn the heat to low and continue cooking as the berries break down, stirring so that they do not stick to the pan.
After 5 minutes, add the orange juice, zest, sweetener of choice, salt, and optional apple sauce. Continue cooking and stirring. The entire process should take 10-15 minutes. Add more water if needed. The mixture will thicken as it sits.
Store in a sealed container in the fridge for about two weeks.
