Mediterranean-inspired “nachos,” a perfect anytime snack

Few snacks rival the versatility of hummus. It’s high protein level keeps me full and it pairs perfectly with so many other foods. Overall, it’s a wonderful addition to any diet. Which is why today I’m excited to share my latest favorite – Mediterranean Nachos with Tribe® Mediterranean Hummus!

Since I live right near an Albertsons, I was able to pick up all of the ingredients I needed for this recipe in one place. One-stop shopping is my favorite kind these days. I was looking for a snack that would feel “fancy” but would require less than 5 minutes of prep time. This recipe is exactly that. It’s customizable too! Naturally for this recipe I chose the Tribe® Mediterranean flavor, but they have other fun variations like Garlic, Classic, Red Pepper, Black Bean, and Spicy Yellow Lentil. Since Tribe® Mediterranean Hummus is made with no artificial preservatives, it tastes just like homemade hummus (but much more convenient).

What ingredients are in hummus?

Like traditional hummus, Tribe® Mediterranean Hummus contains the chickpeas, tahini and garlic. To make it more “Mediterranean,” they add a drizzle of oil and some additional spices like paprika! The flavor pair perfectly with crunchy cucumbers and fresh cherry tomatoes.

So what ingredients are needed for mediterranean nachos?

  • Pita chips, any flavor
  • Cucumber slices
  • Cherry tomato halves
  • Tribe® Mediterranean Hummus
  • Dill
  • Oregano, for sprinkling

Like I mentioned, I was able to find all of these ingredients at Albertsons. They have an app that makes creating shopping lists very easy too.

How to make Mediterranean Nachos

This process could not be much simpler. You’ll first assemble the pita chips, cucumbers, tomatoes, on a large plate. Then, you’ll drizzle Tribe® Mediterranean Hummus onto the chip plate and top with some fresh herbs. Easy and delish! If you like olives, I’m sure they would be great additions.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups pita chips
  • 1 small cucumber, diced
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • One half cup Tribe® Mediterranean Hummus
  • One fourth cup dill
  • 1 tsp oregano

Instructions

  1. On a medium plate, add pita chips so that they form a small mound. Top with cucumber slices and cherry tomatoes.
  2. Drizzle Mediterranean Hummus over plate of pita chips and top with dill. Sprinkle with oregano to serve.
