Welcome to Garlic Head! I’m so happy you’re here. My name is Emily and I live in San Diego, California. On Garlic Head I provide delicious and nourishing recipes for all types of eaters.
If you’d prefer listening to reading, I was featured on the Evolution Eats Podcast. I discuss my views on food, media, and sustainability.
Who is Garlic Head for?
The audience for Garlic Head includes people looking to eat a little bit healthier but who do not want to spend a lot of money at the grocery store or spend hours in the kitchen. I know you are busy, which is why many of my recipes take 15 minutes or less to create!
The kitchen is my “happy place” and I love being able to share my creations with others. Healthy food can be delicious! I started this blog because I am passionate about this fact, and I know that of any singular human activity, how we eat has the largest impact on our planet’s wellbeing. I also noticed a real lack of truly “quick + healthy” recipes online.
What if I’m not vegan?
Garlic Head recipes are all plant-based, but designed with flexibility in mind. I always provide as many substitution options as possible, along with suggestions for people who do not share my personal dietary preferences. Even if you are a devout carnivore, I guarantee there is something here for you!
Small acts of change can move the needle, and I believe wholeheartedly that a diet rich in plants can make you feel your very best.
What is your favorite recipe?
The name of this blog references, unsurprisingly, my love of garlic. If you are not as much of a fan, never fear. I post both sweet and savory recipes, and (more importantly), a lot of desserts! My current favorite recipe is this coffee tahini smoothie.
Along with writing this website, I love going on hikes with my fiancé across Southern California, reading, working out, FaceTiming with my family, buying new plants, and visiting the grocery store (are these last two considered hobbies?).
I hope you love making these recipes just as much as I enjoy creating them for you.
