Description

The Grand Marnier Strawberry Sundae is an elevated dessert that feels fancy but is ready in minutes! Serve the infused fruit over your favorite vanilla ice cream for an elegant and convenient treat. Non-alcoholic options available!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb fresh strawberries, washed, hulled and cut into thin pieces
  • 1 TBS orange zest
  • 1 TBS grated fresh ginger, optional
  • 1/4 cup organic cane sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 4 TBS of orange juice, from about 1/2 large orange
  • 4 TBS Grand Marnier, or more orange juice
  • Vanilla ice cream, to serve
  • Basil, to serve

Instructions

  1. Add sliced strawberries to a large bowl. Spoon zest, ginger if using, sugar and salt on top and stir.
  2. Add orange juice and Grand Marnier and stir once more.
  3. Spoon a few scoops of ice cream into 4 glasses and ladle strawberries on top. Serve immediately, garnishing with fresh basil if desired. Strawberries will keep in a sealed container in the fridge for a few days, though they will soften.
